Digital Marketing – Final Report

  1. Course Overview:

In this Digital Marketing course, we were asked to complete a series of assignments to build our skills in website building/upkeep and knowledge behind website data analysis. Then we wrote many blogs analyzing two companies within the following fields SEO keywords, AI content creation, and creating supportive ideas for increased engagement. 

  1. Theoretical Knowledge Gained: 

Within this course, I have gained a multitude of new knowledge and skills regarding digital marketing. Digital marketing contains social media, using online data services, and understanding how to use AI to your advantage when searching through data. With email marketing, we can directly interact with our current consumers to create brand and customer value. 

  1. Practical Project Summary:  

After creating the website and setting up all of the Google data services I now understand how to connect the numbers of engagement directly to my blog postings and who is interested in my posts. To create customer personas I went through reviews and the overall services each company provided and was able to narrow the consumers who would most likely be interested in choosing the two companies. To find the keywords that consumers look up to find each company’s website working through the SEO keyword research I now understand the importance of what is in the genetics of each website and how you conduct blogs. 

  1. Key Skills Acquired:  

When managing my website I had to make sure of precise language and update each page with each post made. We utilized email messages to help gain attraction to our new postings with those who asked to be on our email list. As a class, we had to adjust and send out our emails without any automation so I have been able to practice consistency and using different language to keep interactions interesting for my email list. With the Google data services, we have been able to check how each post was interacted with and learned why having a specific title for each blog post helps to pull new eyes to our websites. 

  1. AI Tool Utilization Experience: 

This course has opened my mind to using AI tools to help assist in my research. We have the opportunity to use AI to sift through lists and data to help pull the information we are looking for. It has helped to save time and to pick up on information I may have missed going through the data by myself. 

  1. Data Analysis Capabilities: Google review analysis, web analytics using GA4, etc.

With our use of Google Analytics and other data services, we were able to collect data we wouldn’t have been able to see how users interact with our page in very specific measures. I was able to learn how important Blog titles can attract more users when they can see what they will be choosing to read straight from their Google searches. Most of my users were those who knew of the website to begin with and had limited interactions. 

  1. Real Company Analysis Experience: Analysis and proposals for the companies of interest

Midwest Marketing – From my collection of data, Midwest Marketing should attempt to focus on “digital marketing salary”, “digital marketing company”, “midwest merchandising services reviews”, and “Midwest merchandising services” when writing blog posts. These are found from researching how people will find their website. Using AI this topic may draw consumers to their website if they were to write a post about, “How to Enhance Consumer Engagement: Tips from Midwest Marketing Exports”. When researching customer reviews on Google Maps “clarity around specific services, scalability, and pricing transparency” were some areas of potential growth. These are suggestions from AI after inputting a series of results and questions. 

Code3 – Code3 should try using the following keywords for written content, “code3 agency”,  “code3”, “code3 marketing”, and “code3 marketing opportunities/strategies.” These words are found from researching how people will find their website. According to AI “How to Set Realistic Advertising Goals for Your Business” is a great topic for a blog post to help attract consumers to their website. 

  1. Social Media Utilization:

We used LinkedIn to promote our blog posts and to practice shortening our posts to attract readers. LinkedIn is a great place to connect with our chosen companies and other businesses on the platform. We connected with new classmates and were able to help build each other’s pages for future needs and a deeper understanding of how to use the platform.

    • LinkedIn Engagement:
      • Number of Likes: 5
      • Number of comments: 1 – From a user unrelated to the company being discussed. 
      • Number of shares: 0
      • Organic Impressions: 182
    • Network growth in LinkedIn: I have gained around 6 new connections since beginning to post. 
    • Any contact: I had no interactions with either of the discussed companies
    • Total traffic in GA4 <Never forget to set the date: Aug.26, 2024 – Today> 
      • Total active users: 203
      • Total sessions: 224
      • Total engaged sessions.: 1 – the average session duration = 52seconds

h the skills I have acquired, I will be capable of upkeep a website and creating blog postings for a variety of content. If I were to create my own business I would be able to confidently begin and understand the process of setting up a website and understanding how my website is being interacted with. Analyzing data for almost anything is going to be much easier as I now have a greater understanding of marketing terms being applied in real life and use the tools available to me to highlight the information I am looking for. 

  1. Contribution Plans for Target Companies: How to contribute to companies based on acquired skills

The skills and applications I have learned and applied during this course will be skills needed in any marketing position. When I go to apply to and learn a position in marketing I will be confident in my understanding of what we are looking through and how to use the data to increase our engagement and customer value. These skills apply to any marketing team I may find myself on in the future and I hope to contribute greatly in any position I land in. 

  1. Personal Growth: Growth process as a digital marketing professional and future goals

My hope for a future career in marketing starts at the base, I plan to enter into the field and learn how my team functions and apply my skills where it is needed to support those who are in charge of each project. Once comfortable and have achieved success in the field I plan to take on leadership positions to help allocate responsibilities and pass down knowledge and the experience I have collected to those working on each project. I believe a team should work together in more ways than achieving success but also build skills within each other to create a valuable and responsible team.
